This is a shocker. Nobody has ever heard of this happening before. I
talked with a racer this morning about it (when the news came, he called to
tell me I was probably wrong about the HANS and Dale, but he still thinks
everybody should be using one in NASCAR).
I stand behind the need for the HANS use. But obviously, I eat crow on
saying it would be important in this case. Good argument for full face
helmets.....
My dad would never let me use an open face even in drag racing or autox'ing
a street car.
