The valve is a fumoto valve( www.fumotovalve.com ), allowing you to drain
the oil without having to screw out the drain plug and having to hunt for it
in the drain pan...
plus, it keeps you from burning your hand, allowing you to drain the oil
while it is hot (oils flows better when hot)...

I think one Purolator oil filter and the Mobil 1 oil filter where rated the
best...

somebody on here awhile ago said they tested different oil filters( running
them and then disecting them) on e that was mentioned had a special valve
the others didn't. i thought i saved the email, but can't find it. about to
take the dak out to stretch her legs from jacksonville florida to st'louis
MO. using the fram now, and i heard that was bad. any info is appreciated.
