I know that I am not in your area. Down here the Quad cabs are all over the place. I belive that you whould be able to find one just the way you want it and get it transfered to you. That is what I had to do with my 93. I called dealers in 3 states but we found it just the way I wanted it. But like you say it is only money and that stuff grows on trees RIGHT HA HA HA

Does anyone know when the ordering deadline is? Has anyone heard

Read on only if you're curious to know why I'm asking...
Norah and I were at the dealer yesterday for an oil change. We saw our
sales guy while we were there and stopped to talk to him for a couple of
minutes. We mentioned that we were thinking of getting a Quad Cab
later in the summer, since the lease on our '98 is going to be up around
the end of July.
He said that the quads are almost impossible to find sitting on the lots
anywhere in Toronto, especially if you have any preference for how it's
configured. Apparently they're in pretty high demand, and they disappear
as soon as they show up. Also, because of this demand, he wouldn't be
able to cut any deals on the price. As long as we'd be paying full
price anyway, he suggested to place an order and get exactly what we
want.
But the catch is that he's pretty sure that the orders are going to be
cut off before the middle of March, because they're going to be idling
the plant early this year. Which means we have to order now.
This sounds awfully convenient to me. It seems like every time I talk to
a dealer, they always manage to come up with some reason that I have to
buy today or miss out. But with what I've been reading about all of the
plant closures and production cutbacks in DC's short-sighted attempt to
impress Wall Street, I'm afraid he could be right.
So we're faced with a choice: order a Quad Cab (which is a lot more than
we wanted to spend), or take our chances on not being able to find
anything later in the summer, and possibly ending up with a Cherokee for
a while or something.
What the heck... it's only money... :-) Besides, he did manage to come
up with a pretty painless way for us to get out of our lease two months
early. We'd be getting our new truck around the end of April, which
means we'd have it for the whole summer.
Thanks,
Jason
