Let me answer this one: the tranny did the same with mine unit. The
service guys don't know why but would be glad to replace the unit.

Dude,
Your original post was damned near impossible to read. I fixed it just so
I could decipher what you were saying. For future reference all caps is
hard to read and it suggests that you're yelling at folks. And you must
be copying text from Word or something because of the odd characters that
keep showing up.

I have a 2k Dakota 4x4 4.7 auto and the tranny has been acting very
strange. A few times it's made a grinding noise when going into reverse
and very often there's a curious surge while at a stop light. It's as
though I nudge the gas pedal while sitting there and the truck pushes
against the brakes. I'm going to try and take the truck in next week and
have the dealer give it a once over.

Truck is also idling kinda rough.

I have zero mods to the engine or exhaust and have less than 6000 miles
on it.

I have a 2000 4.7L v8 and have had a serious prolblem with mine . You can
put
mine in reverse it says its in reverse and it wont go anywhere. I have
filed
arbitrtaion once, during the meeting the dm said he would replace the tcm
followed by the transimion if the tcm doesnt fix it. And I got a 6 year
100k
mile exedn warrnty. Well the reason I first filed arbitrtaion is that I
complained of the problem and they at first said they would not be able to
fix it unless they were able to hook a DRB to it when it was doing it.

Well that day came and I had 2 techs look at it. Thats when the easter
egg hunt
started. They relaced the shift cable , I complained that it still was not
fixed, they replace the solendoid pack when I complained again they said
dupilcate it again, well I filed and they outcome I already spoke of.

Make a long story short, they put the TCM in it didn't fix it, I
complained wanting
my new tranny, they said dupilcate it again, not following what was agreed
upon during the 1st arbit. Well I did and again recorded and now on March
5th I meet again for arbitration. This was the shortened version, if you
have a
4,7 auto and have the reverse sometimes not work email me before 3/5/01 s
o I can present this at arbitration and start a possible buyback, since
they can
fix it.
