What kinda tire size is 265/70R16???

So, I've been looking through the specs for our new truck, and I noticed
the tire size.

What in the world have they done to me now? Yes, I realize that it works
out to be the same size as 31x10.5, but why did they have to change the
wheel diameter? (Don't tell me... to be "different".)

31x10.5 R15 is one of the most popular sizes in the world for truck
tires. But I've only been able to find 3 all terrain styles in 265/70R16:
the good old BFG AT KO
  Bridgestone Dueler A/T
  Yokohama Geolandar A/T+

I know the BFGs are excellent tires, but they're expensive, and I disagree on
general principle with their price fixing policy. Anyone know anything
about either of the other two? Know of any all terrain tires in this size
that I've missed?

(IMHO The Dunlop Radial Rover A/T isn't really an all terrain, it's an all
season just like the Goodyear Wrangler RT/S that comes from the factory.)

What's really irritating is that there are lots of options in 265/75R16.
For various reasons I don't really want to mess around with changing the
tire size just yet. (Mostly I'm afraid the hand-wringers at Chrysler
Canada might decide to void the warranty if they find out we did something
to make the odometer read incorrectly. If you think I'm being paranoid,
these are the same people who wouldn't honor the warranty on
my US market '95 Dak unless I converted the speedometer and odometer to
kilometers and had the mileage converted so the read-out would be correct
in km. Fortunately all the dealer had to do was to place an extra call
to Chrysler US and it was all taken care of.)

Thanks.
