R/T rims & tires on I4

I am looking at putting R/T rims and tires (equal to the stock size) on my 98
I4 2.5L and was told that might put too much stress on my truck, and it would
not be able to handle it.
Also if I do this will the dealer easily be able to change the speedometer to
dit the bigger set up.
