Regarding the 4.7 5spd. vs. the 5.9/auto- I know someone who got rid of a
2000 R/T because his friend's 4.7 liter 5 spd. Sport was faster. The "Beer
Barrel" intake on the pushrod Magnums (as much as I love my supercharged 5.2)
is a big limitation: it's great for towing/torque (very long intake runners),
but it kills the 5.9 above 4000 RPM. The 5.2 fares a little better- the
engine doesn't draw as much air in, so the intake doesn't become as big a
restriction.
