I feel your pain. I bought my Dak used and changed the oil a couple of
weeks later. Mines a 91 5.2, and the filter is only accessible via the
passenger side wheel well. The prior owner cut a flap in the plastic
fender well to get the filter out. I still ended up bathed in oil, because
the only way to get a filter wrench on the filter is from under the
truck. I'd have to say all in all that it is normal for Dodge to be that
stupid. Some engineer is laughing his ass off at our expense!
