A new boot should fix the problem. People have not had good luck with
platinums for your engine. You need 3923 coppers.

Subject: DML: Spark Plug Problem

Well I ran into a little problem today while changing the plugs. I couldn't
find regular AutoLite 3923's, but I did find the regular platinum ones AP
3923. While changing the plugs, I must have messed up one of the boots,
cause I opened it up tonight and I could see it the spark through the boot.
So I am guessing I need to change this boot. Can I just get a new boot or
do I need to get a whole new set of wires? Also another question I had is,
my truck didn't really ping all that much with the stock Champion plugs in
it, but with these AutoLite's it is pinging like a mother. Maybe I
shouldn't even be running the platinums? I did get the stock AutoLite
replacement plugs and I may just put those back in, or maybe I should also
install the 180 t-stat I got and see if that helps. Any suggestions? thanks
in advance.
