I remember a string of messages going around about this earlier, now I
wish I would have saved them.
I'm to the 3000 mile oil change, I pulled the skid plate off (didn't
put the fumoto valve on at 1000) pulled the drain plug out, crawled
out from under the truck, turn the filler cap off and there is this
white/yellowish foam that looks like congealed fat on the bottom of
the cap and in the filler neck. My truck is a 2001, so I had assumed
that dodge had fixed this little issue (well, not really fixed, just
covered up by putting something in the filler neck to prevent this
from getting up that high). Now I know this to not be true, does
anyone know if there is a TSB for the 2001s now?
There are no listings for 2001 on alldata.com yet, but there is this
one for the 2000:
09-01-00 FEB 00 Normal Accumulation Of Foamy Oil - 4.7L
Oil Fill Housing
Does this apply to the 2001s?
And by the way, the oil filter is a heck of lot easier to get off when
it's not the factory original put on by the 900 gorilla....
Now to put the fumoto valve on:
What size hose is that again, 3/8"? And should autozone or advance
have some?
Thanks, you guys are the greatest...
