Hey, now Ron! I've been trying to do better! I took the suggestions of the
list, and have been shifting a little higher in the rpm range when the motor
is warm, say closer to 2400-2500. I made a small hghway run the other day,
entirely in 4th gear, running 2500 rpms for about 3 hrs straight. I also
have been "showing off" a little lately. I stopped to talk to a couple of my
friends the other day, and when I left, they told me to "get on it" as they
usually do. I never "get on" the truck, so they were prepared to be
dissapointed again, but I decided that it wouldn't hurt, so I pulled out in
the road(small one way country road with no one else in sight) real easy in
1st, nailed it when I got straight, and I was spinning a little- I started
to get sideways about 4000 rpms, so I shifted, catching a big 2nd gear
rubber, acclerated spinning a little through about 3500 rpms in second, then
caught 3rd gear rubber, and let off of it as I was getting out of sight of
them. They were thoroughly impressed! I hope it wasn't too hard on it!!
HEHEHE!

Therein lies the problem. We're talking about Will Coughlin here. This is
Mr. "I never get it over 2K" Coughlin. I have trouble believing that
letting your engine idle constantly will not create adverse effects on that
engine. There's condensation and carbon, not to mention the build up of
acids in the engine.
