Excellent choice, Jim! I used to drive a 2000 GC limited 4.7L/quadra drive
4x4. It was an extremely tight, well refined vehicle. I loved it and
couldn't beleive it was the same engine that was in my Dakota! Don't really
kow about the power issue, I never use max power out of mine! HTH,

Subject: DML: traitor feeling ( a littlt long)
Date: Thu, 29 Mar 2001 22:47:07 -0600
I had to buy an suv this week and I keep having that traitor feeling for not
buying a Dodge Durango. I just like the Grand Cherokee Limited because it
is
much more luxurious than the Durango and a little cheaper too. I guess I
didn't leave Mopar behind though. No I didn't get rid of my Dak! Don't
expect to anytime soon either. I am sure I will be happy with the 4.7 V8
and
the 5 speed trans. I haven't driven it yet (it is due at the dealer
tomorrow)
so I'll find out how it compares to my R/T. I bought every option available
except 4wd. I don't need it and it cost 2,500 more anyway. The V8 models
all
come with a 3.73 axle ratio and I did get the Trac-Lock option. I am not
familiar with the 4.7 but I expect the air cleaner is as sorry as the one
that
came on my Dak. What is everyone using on the 4.7? BTW I find it hard to
believe but the specs say the GC is about 150 pounds lighter than my RC R/T.
I don't see how though. And what spark plug has proven best in the 4.7? I
also understand headers are not good right now and i don't know if the dak
headers would fit the Jeep either. I also wonder if the 4.7 is needing the
lengthy break in before developing maximum power like the cast iron magnums
seem to? Any input appreciated.
