I don't know if this will work on 4.7's(it should) but I did a po boy intake
in my 5.9 and I think I'm getting the coldest air available;
All the way to the front, pass side there is a flat, horizontal space. Below
where the air box(on the 5.9) would reside and right behind where the
headlight assy is. I cut a 4" hole in the corner, and from below the
truck-the area behind the foglight, I inserted a K&N RE-0920?(Big 6 X 9)
through the hole. The inlet flange pokes out into the engine compartment and
the rest of the filter is behind the bumper. I then PVC'd to the air hat.
Obviously the hardest part is making the hole. I used a hydraulic knock-out
punch so it was easy for me but a jig saw would work too.
I'm now using the same rig with my powerdyne. Does it work? Hell Yeah!!!!
