Hey Will, that's volts. You want to measure AMPs, me thinks. ;-) You have
to measure AMPs in line also, me thinks. Who's the electrical expert around
here......hey Mr Eng, where are you???

Subject: DML: Friggin GEN Light
Ok guys, this has me baffled. My friend dropped by just now and his GEN
light was on. Ok, no prob I say. He cranks it up and the light comes on.
The dash shows it is charging normal. WTF?!?!?! Grab the volt/ohm meter.
13.91V @ the alt and 13.90V at the battery. That is just fine. WTF?!?!?!
Turn truck off. Reset comp. Crank it up. Whew! No light. <10 secs
later>
GEN <f*ck f*ckitty f... f... f...!!!> So we hook an Autometer volt gauge
up
and drive around for a while. It hold steady between 13.9 and 14.0 at all
times. WTF?!?!?! This one has me baffled. Any ideas?
Will
