Hehe, I've had sucess with using the e-brake while going through the
rough stuff, and both my axles are still open (for now anyways :-) )
Even when I had 1 wheel off the ground, like on ruts and rocks, I just
gradually apply the e-brake until I pull away. But the mfg's are coming
up with some pretty serious stuff, you can get actual lockers (not lsd)
in a Jeep GC, several Toyotas (which you can lock it from the dash which
is really cool) and Mitsu Monteros just to name a few. Maybe GM got it's
act together finally, now let's see if their 4wd system engages right
away, unlike the pos "Insta-Trac" of past.
