My wife told me you called last night and asked for information on the
Northeast Hemi Owners Association meet. It will take place on
Memorial Day weekend. Activities will span from Friday night through
Sunday. The host motel is the Shoney's Inn on Churchman's Road just
off of Route 7. It is right around the corner from Christiana Mall.
I don't know if you wanted to attend the meet for the entire weekend or
just drop by to look around, but I know that motel rooms have been
going fast! We had a block of 90 rooms at Shoney's and another 20 or so at
the Red Roof Inn located right behind Shoney's. If you just wanted
to drop by for a while, perhaps the best time would be Friday night. Late
that afternoon we will be touring the Chrysler Assembly Plant in
Newark (provided they aren't on shut-down), but by nightfall most of the
cars should be back at the motel. Saturday we will be taking a trip to
Fort Delaware, then driving to our banquet that night. Sunday we will drive
to Lums Pond State Park for a picnic in the afternoon. You could
probably catch us there if you wanted to. Afterward, we will return to the
motel.
If you are interested in attending for the weekend and participating in
the club activities, let me know and I'll get you a registration form.
Elkton isn't far away, but if you wanted to stay at either motel I'd
strongly urge you to make your reservations now. Like I said, rooms have
been
going fast and I don't know if there are any still available.
