You guys trying to find a power saving fan ever investigate the hydraulic
fan used on the 2001 Grand Cherokee 4.7V8s?
It runs off of the power steering pump and engages when needed. It run at
low speed much of the time and is quiet. When it switches to full speed the
engine rpm does not drop at all so it may use very little power! Toyota has
used these for several years and other makes may have too.
