Bill, I drive my uncle's 1961 C-60, and it was like that with the old 4-spd,
until we swapped to a clark 5-spd. It is synchro'ed 2nd-5th, makes for a
little less effort! Oh yeah, double low is still a bear if you're anything
less than dead stopped!

butane delivery truck in hi school that you had to double clutch every gear
but 4th. Only way to down shift to "Granny Low" was to rev it to Red Line
and damn near come to a stop and start over. YIPES, I'm telling me age now.
