Beyond my personal problems and struggling with my golf game, I was changing my
oil this afternoon and I noticed some goo coating the T-Case skid plate. I get
a light and sure enough the T-Case is coated with a thin film on the front
output shaft side of it...
I pulled the plate but I couldn't tell where it was coming from however the
shift linkage, where it connects to the case, has a space between it and the
case. It's not a big space, maybe the width of a fingernail, and I tried to
tighten it up but no joy on that. Anybody else having this problem? Kyle, I
know you were having some sort of leak, was it at the linkage connection to the
case? My rig is a '98 4x4 CC with about 41,000 miles on her.
Next problem. I'm lubing the ball joints on the lower A-arm when I notice this
black stripe on the passenger side brake disk. Looking closer, I confirm it's
a deep gouge about an eight of an inch wide. I don't notice any significant
lack of braking but should I replace the rotors immediately anyway??
Last thing (that I noticed anyway). The passenger side upper ball joint looks
like it's a little out of whack... It's not oriented the same as the drivers
side and it was almost impossible to get the lube gun nozzle on the zirk. Is
this normal? How to I re-orient this thing??
Thanks for any help/insight!
Tom
