the zerk fittings for ball joints also act as a wear indicator. Once the
zerk looks like it's not centered, or if it sunk downwards, it usually says
that the ball joint is a little worn out and has a little extra movement
allowing the fitting to sink down. I believe 2wd dakotas have a .002 (or
.02 can't remember) tolerance and 4wd dakotas have .006 (or .06) tolerance
for end play.
