Thanks Kyle. I had the lift put on last year. I had planned to do it
myself, but got intimidated when I realized I didn't have all the tools for
the job. I didn't want to get half way and get stuck. It cost me 600 bucks,
plus another 100 bucks for new balljoints(since they were in there anyway).
The new rims(req'd) have a 3.75" backspace, they're eagle 15x8s, the same as
on Bernd's truck. This pushes the tires out a bit more, and with the 32s
on, I had to trim some of the fender flare on the front and some of the body
on the rear side of wheelwell to get clearance at full wheel lock. Not
that much work with a grinding wheel. I've had no trouble with the lift
otherwise. It sure helped at last year's DML
BBQ(http://www.dakota-truck.net/meet/DMLBBQ02/). I later purchased the
steering stabilizer from summit, but they sent me the wrong u-bolts....and I
haven't called to have new ones sent yet. I'd recommend the stabilizer, as
I think the bigger tires let the road do some work on your steering system.
I had to have the idler arm replaced just a couple months ago, and I think
this(the lift w/o stabilizer) contributed to the idler arm's early demise.
Somebody can correct me if that logic is flawed. I also got a 2" body lift
for 60 bucks, but haven't even started to think about that.
