The 4.7 acutally has a lower torque rating than the 5.2 by 5 horse but the
4.7 is still a faster engine because of weight differences and the power
range. If you've actually got 200 hp out of a catback and home brew intake
I'd be very suprised as well isnt stock 175 on the 3.9? I had a good deal
of mods to my old 5.2 exhaust, TB, 14x5 K&N, MP-SBEC, Electric Fan,
Magnacores and Mobil 1. After all of that I'd still say my 4.7 is faster
than the 5.2. I think the majority of that is due to the automatic trans in
my 5.2 and the manual in my 4.7 but either way it still feel & performs
stronger and it is lighter than the older style engines. I'd be careful
about what you say about dusting a 3.7 untill you've actually seen one on
the street. I highly doubt dodge is going to produce an inferior engine to
the 3.9 for its replacement.
