Under normal cruising, no. The O2 sensors help keep the mixture under
control. Only when you hit Open-Loop mode are the O2 sensors ignored.
During WOT is about the only time you'll see a decrease in fuel economy from
the IAT...and that's because you flooring it. ;)
On the EGR valve, definitely clean it first and see if that cures it. If
not, you can block it (don't know what the PCM will do) but that's a
patch...not a fix.

Ok just wondering but could the IAT adjuster cause a decrease in gas milage
because of the computer richening up the mixture? Also my truck has been
showing the check engine light, it has just come on while driving. I pulled
the codes and it showed number 32. i checked my Haynes Repair manual and it
says 32 refers to the EGR system, i've heard that you can block off the egr
tube to "fix" it. it'd be cheaper than having to buy a new EGR Vavle. i'm
going to try and clean it out when i get a chance, but i might just block it
off. is this OK to do? wouldn't the computer still show a check engine light
because it would think the egr system wouldn't be working right? thanks, oh
and 95 3.9 auto.
