AUBURN HILLS, Mich. -- Chrysler is recalling about 11,000 2001 model
year Dodge Caravan, Grand Caravan, Chrysler Voyager and Town & Country
minivans because a bolt on the lower control arm of the front suspen-
sion can break, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The minivans were built between March 22 and April 21 and represent
one month's production of the vehicles at plants in St. Louis, Mo.,
and Windsor, Ontario. About 9,000 of the minivans were sold in the
United States and 1,900 in Canada. The rest are either at the factory,
at dealerships or in transit. Any vans built before March 22 or after
April 21 are not included in the recall.
