Just a quick note to say I got to see the Dodge's new full-size
Ram Quadcab in the flesh. I went down to Laughlin for Harley
Days (don't have one, but any excuse for a party) and Dodge was
a sponsor and had brought two Vipers, two Dak Quadcabs (one was
stock, the other was that RealTree "concept"), a 2WD '01 full
size, and the new '02. The new truck looks sweet up close and
personal. The back seat looked like quite an innovative design
to accommodate cargo. Standing in front of the truck, it
actually seemed bigger than the current design. Anyway, I think
Dodge has got another winner on their hands--it's a good look'n
truck without straying far from the current heritage.
One thing on the RealTree camo Quadcab Dak--it's lifted
(suspension). I just now thought about it--looked like the
Rancho lift because the parts we're red, but I thought all
Quadcabs had the rack-and-pinion and therefore they weren't able
to adapt the current lift kits? Did the first year of the QC
have the older type steering? If not, they must have swapped
out the r-n-p, because it definitely was up in the air with 32's
or 33's. Anyway, just some ramblings for my fellow Dodge lovers.
