K&N will have a 4.7 FIPK GEN II out in the summer, possibly around $260 or
so, like their price for the 5.2/5.9.
Some folks swear by K&N, some folks swear at K&N (may flow more but
blocks 50% less dirt than other filters)
I'm also researching air intakes till I heard testimonials or reports back
on K&N:
Here are some other options:
Airaid: has a heat shield, uses stock tubing and airhat. 8-10HP and
10FT/LB gains in torque. $141
IntensePeformance Z tube: no heat shield, replaces stock tubing and
airhat, haven't seen manufactures claim of HP/TQ gain. $225
Quickd: no heat shield, replaces stock tubing and airhat. email from their
tech claims 15HP and 15FT/LB gains using a K&N cone filter. $160 (someone
did report they were no longer in business though, anyone know this to be
a fact?)
The Volant also has no heat shield and does replace the stock tubing and
airhat. Their tech line claims 8HP and 15FT/LB gains. $289
I'm not sure which system I'm gonna go with while waiting on K&N, with
posts saying they are slow to get new products out.
