If it's squealing you either have a belt problem or a tensioner problem.

Subject: DML: Squealing Belt

Question....does the serpentine belt ('99 3.9)
impregnated with metal? My truck squeals loudly when I
first start it. Eventually, after a few minutes, goes
away. I've looked at the belt and there appears to be
small slivers of metal in it. Is this normal or an
indication of something disenigrating.

I'd take it my my local dodge boys...but...I just
can't bear to hear the accusations that either I am
retarded, a whiner or a combination of the two...often
said as "the problem cannot be duplicated" or "this is
within normal operating standards".

TIA
