That piece is nothing more than a thin plastic black shield "passenger side
front as you look at the grille of the vehicle.
For us with HomeBrew setups, or anyone with the open K&N filter setup,
removing this shield allows air to flow directly thru the grille area and
into the engine compartment in the area of the filter.
It's NOT the snorkle fitting, just pop the hood and look to the left of the
radiator.
