I figured it was the CTM that had the steering wheel button multiplexer but my
manual's all the way outside under the seat.... Can anyone think of a way to
energize one of 5 different relays given one of 5 preset resistances on a
wire? I'd like to use the buttons, but can't think of an easy way to do it.
Maybe RadioShack or www.ackradio.com can help with a multiplexer. Any ideas?

My 2001 service manual says the steering wheel radio controls are hardwired
to the CTM through the clockspring. Not via a radio signal.
Your post did surprise me though. I was wondering if it *were* via a radio
signal how Dodge protects vehicles from interfering with each other and
also protects from pranksters. Unwanted remote control of your vehicle
could be a very very bad thing.
Anyway, so I looked it up. But do please let me know if what I'm seeing in
my service manual is wrong, okay? -Tod
