Thanks for the input Kevin. But I think we are getting way out in front of
ourselves a little early on.
My idea on the Hotel rooms with the price of entry was to try to keep
everyone together in the same place for the weekend. Sure, people might
live in town 20 minutes away from the event. Take a mini vacation in your
own town! My father puts on a Naval Helicopter reunion each year here in
San Diego-- people fly in from all over the country (and from across the
world) for the event)--and my parents stay at the same hotel as the other
attendees so that they can be a part of the festivities-- and avoid any
potential DUI issues too I would imagine! :P
Since I see some great potential for this event to occur, we need to
nominate a committee to work on this project. Figure 5-6 people to haggle
over design, events, etc. These events shall be posted to the DML for a
vote. Either through an egroups site (I have
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/socaldakotas set up) or have Jon setup a
polling area on the DML web page.
People nominated for this committee can decline nomination. If elected, you
will be responsible for putting together the first annual? national Dakota
meet in Las Vegas. I assume we will go with Vegas as I recommended it and
people have responded to it. As a group I think we will be able to get more
done, more efficiently than on our own.
Open the nominations-- (close by, Friday? May 18th-- 1 week from today?)
Sam
