Thanks Andy, I don't really need to know who it was, or what group.

What I was trying to say was that I want to have this meet put on
by Dakota owners (drive the bus for once), and not put on by another
organization (Durango, RT or other). Established groups are welcome
to get involved, but I don't want to be biased towards one or another
and have the event turn into another DOC, or DTOA, or RT Club, event.

This is a DML event. Put on by DML members. I spoke with a few people
from the PT Cruiser club last night at a car show. Here's what they
have going memorial day weekend= 250 PTs already signed up for Vegas.
500 members in attendance. Of the 500 members, each paid $50.00 towards
the raffle prize= A tricked out PT Cruiser to be given away at the event.
Their itinerary matches almost exactly what I had thought of for a Dakota
event (with a few exceptions). I may tag along with them that weekend to
see how things go. Great bunch of people, friendly, no hang ups, etc.

That's the type of event I want to put on. For those of you who don't
have an RT, or do and didn't attend last years first annual RT Club meet--
It was a blast, and something I'll never forget. Take that and double it,
and that's the potential I see (plus more) for Las Vegas '2002. If people
don't mind the heat, we can go later in the year. Whatever.

But to get this rolling, we need to get people nominated for the committee
to get this organized. I posted earlier a deadline to nominate by next
Friday. So far, only 2 nominations. Once nominations are closed, I will
put up a voting poll on www.egroups.com/socaldakotas for people to vote on.
Voting will end the following Friday. The top 5 votes get committee
positions.

If we cannot get 5 members, then you guys are on your own. I wanted to jump
start this, and be involved, but don't have the energy or the time to run it
all by myself-- No one likes to throw a party and have no one show up.

Sam
