I swear Steve, if it wasn't for bad luck, you wouldn't have any luck at all.

Subject: DML: Annoying rattle finally figured out on my `99

Hee hee hee!! I got it!! Been really annoyed with this
clanking/rattle from under the passenger floor area
for many months. It just sounded like a tin can with
the lid inside being shaken. It was the speedometer
cable slapping against the body heat shield.I just
tied the cable against the transmission filler tube
with a couple cable ties.Fixed it!! But while I was
under there,I looked real close at my cat. They
supposedly replaced it under warranty four or five
months ago. There is a muffler clamp about an inch past
the converter that they would have had to at least
disturb to get the cat off.But the clamp has about two
years worth of rust, and those nuts have not been
touched. And there are no parts more shiny or clean
than the rest.I`ve been suckered,seems like.They had
my truck over a week waiting for parts, but I guess
they didn`t change anything at all.Hmmm.How do I feel
about THAT?! Looks like the ole placebo effect has
been tried on me. Note to self:Next time check before
you drive off the lot to be sure something has been
changed! Steve P.
