The Jet Chip for the 4.7 doesn't directly effect shift operations.

What you may have noticed is simply the increased spark advance. Daimler
in its ultimate wisdom has retarded the timing during shifts to help keep
from grenading their inferior late model transmissions... The Jet Chip
increases the spark advance across the range hence masking slightly the
attempt to kill power during a shift.
