Subject: DML: Confusing road signs (off topic slightly)
I don`t know,are local department of highways trying
to make subliminal statements with road signs,or just
trying to confuse people? I was driving along a curvy
road yesterday,and I noticed at each curve they had
math symbols like this: > or this: < ,spaced
throughout the curve about every five feet.I looked at
them and thought,"Do they mean hillside is "greater
than" road? Hmmm. Another confusing sign I observed
was when driving along the side of a mountain with big
boulders sticking out.The sign said "rock slides".This
one pi**ed me off.They go out of their way,seems
like,to promise something like that,yet there were no
signs down the road instructing me on who had these
slides,or where they might be showing.I would love to
see something informative like that about rocks! Even
if it was just in a photographic format! Another one I
saw was,"End construction". Amazing! Doesn`t it seem
like everyone has a cause these days? If these radical
enviromentalists truly ever do succeed in "ending
construction" as they apparently hope to do,then the
highways and byways that we enjoy so much would not be
built! Anyway,I was so mad by the time I saw the one
that said "DIP",that I about wrecked after hitting a
small bump in the road.Now they resort to
name-calling? Is it just me? No,I`m sure that the
neighborhood kids playing near the street do not
appreciate the sign that says,"SLOW children
playing",like it`s the D.O.H.`s business how
intellectually developed our kids are! Man,I am just
furious right now! Thank you DMLers for letting me vent.
