I'm sure you could convert it to an aftermarket coil. An MSD Blaster 2 coil
costs a max of 40 bucks. and if you REALLY need, a whole MSD ignition box
is 180 bucks. should be even cheaper in japan.
you have choices like:

crane. etc...
check around local speed shops.
