Blaine,
While this does not pertain to electric fans, is does deal with cooling. I
recently at 138,000 miles finally had to replace the water pump on my
Dakota. I bought one from Autozone with a lifetime warranty for like $50. At
the same time I also put in a Robert Shaw 195degree thermostat, new upper
radiator hose, new lower radiator hose, new bypass hose, and drained the
coolant from the radiator and put in new coolant. I spent maybe $100 and my
truck runs extremely cool. If you water pump has some miles on it, I would
also suggest a new pump, possibly a new tstat, and flushing out your truck's
cooling system and filling it back up with fresh coolant. Hope this helps.
