They shouldn't rub but maybe you need to go to 15X8 rims. I have 255/65R15
on with no problems, though mine's a '00.

Subject: DML: Tire question
I have a 93 Dak in need of new tires.
It still has the stock alloy rims which currently have 215/75/R15 rubber. I
would like to put a little more rubber on the road (in hopes to get better
traction) and would like to know what tire options are available to me.
I have found Dunlop Sport Rover GTX tires in the 255/70/R15 range but would
these rub?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
