pretty common on all Dak's. My 98 does it. Read on here that it was the
intermediate shaft on the steering shaft. Went to the dealer and argued
until they replaced it. Worked fine for awhile, but it does it again now. At
48k miles, it has caused no problem. So I basically turn my radio up so I
can't hear it... it isn't that bad. The 97 ram we had did it, our 99 durango
does it at work, I dunno if the 2k does, don't drive it much. Had a guy here
in my apt complex that has a 2k1 durango and was asking me about it.
Basically, it is pretty common. Dodge put out a TSB on the 4x4 but not the
2x4.
I have some more info on it if you want me to forward it to ya, just email
me at ggaskin@home.com and I will send it to ya later.
