Dazed,

I had a similar problem when I had the differential serviced and whatever
limited slip additive they used just didn't do the job.. Rear wheels would
hop and skip around. I added a bottle of the Mopar friction enhancement
stuff and that cleared up the problem.

The Jacobs ignition I put on in 1997 helped my 5.2 pinging problem. Still
need to do a top end cleaning every so often.

Hey gang,

Ok, guys I need some back up. My '99 Dakota, 318 manual, limited
3.55 rear driven truck with the tire and handling pkg. (my spelling
sucks, so work with me here) is making some loud, make that very loud
screeching/squealing sounds during turns. At low speed tight turns it
sounds like im doing some stunt from the Fall Guy and flying. I havent
had my tires rotated in awhile and have never had any other tire or rim
work. Also, the steering wheel is tilted to the right, about 20 degrees
and the tires are straight. Could the alignment be affecting or causing
the noises and problems? Should I have the bearings replaced or
repacked? Would that help? Thanks guys, just tring to get the truck
ready for some autocross runs. I cant wait to start, but the trucks not
100% and I dont feel like breaking something.
One last thing, during accel. I am getting the famous ping. Its
mainly when going at speed, example in 5th gear at 55mph and hit the
gas, the truck just pings or what sounds like some valve knocking. I
really dont want to change the plugs, but I will if I have too. I use
good fuel and the occasional fuel system treatment. I just dont get
it.......

Thanks gang, Later.
