I have a 6 foot whip that can be unscrewed from its
base easily. I went to radio shack and bought the
standard mirror bracket mount kit, but here is the
twist. I shaved off just enough material that it fits
betweent the cab and the bed so it's out of view when
the antennae isn't mounted to it. It takes a little
while longer to install but can be done easily enough.
