Well, I just went to the car wash...

And I probably won't be welcome there ever again. First, I went to one
of those DIY pressure wash places and worked on the Dak for about 15
minutes. Dropped several dozen pounds of mud, but there was plenty I
couldn't get.

Rolled to the car wash, and upgraded to the "Ultimate Wash." They
managed to spray out at least as much mud as I did on my own, probably
more, then sent it down the line. Mud was pouring out all the way
down. The guy said "if it's not clean, send it around again."

Got to the end of the line, and before they could start drying, I
stopped them. Send it around again. On my walk back to the beginning
to supervise, I overheard someone whose car was behind mine complain to
the manager about how much mud was in the car wash. This same guy had
just been asking me where I'd been, and sound interested.

Once again, they removed the same quantity of mud from my undercarriage
as I had done myself (by now, we've easily removed 100 pounds). It
just kept going and going... It went through again, they still didn't
get it all, but my welcome was wearing thin.

I expected the manager to say something, he was hovering around me and
the Dak the whole time, but he said nothing. Too bad, too, as I
already had my defense worked out.

They had every right to refuse me service, and I wouldn't have put up a
fight if they did. But they saw the condition of my vehicle and chose
to let it through. I made a good faith attempt to clean it up before
going there. It's their responsibility if the car wash is muddy now.
