PowerDyne Air Filter Observation

Ok...we did a little test with a '99 R/T and a simple air filter
swap...here's what happened:

(1) Factory PowerDyne 4.5"x3.5"x4.5" Cone (Rated @ 339CFM from K&N) -
The filter was cleaned and run for a day under medium to higher boost
levels (9# pulley). It was sucked inwards all around the mesh and boost
never hit more than 5-6# max.

(2) Removed PowerDyne air filter and replaced with a K&N 6x6x4" Round
Filter (Rated @ 1017CFM from K&N) - 8-9# Boost, mileage on the overhead
went up 1.5mpg (can't really trust it but it was consistently at
14mpg...now at 15.5mpg), and the engine responds MUCH better under
normal and mid-WOT.

For those with the PowerDyne filters...get rid of them. They're not
capable of flowing the amount of air required that the blower can put
out. (Some of you have already done this...but those who haven't, just
try it.) $60 at PepBoys well spent. :)

Pictures to follow....
