Actually, Jay- your '01 3.9L Dakota has a NV-3500 transmission. DC started
putting the NV-3500's behind the v6's in 2000. I've considered swaping to an
NV-4500 when I blow my first NV-3500, and I don't see any reason why I you
wouldn't be able to.

In the 4.0 liter jeep wranglers they use an AX-15 tranny just like my
2001 3.9 v-6. My question is, since they have kits that adapt the
NV4500 tranny into a jeep with the same transmission has anyone done it
into a dakota?
Thanks.
