Primarily for access and clearances. but it does also add some extra capacity
to your oiling system depending on how long of lines you add to it and what
size they are.
NASCAR builders did a similar thing at one time with the fuel lines to carry
extra fuel... snake them around so they could have more than just the tank..
every little bit helps.
