is 225 a wider tire?

I never really knew these number meaning.

But guessing that R16 is the wheel/rim size and the 65 I think is it %
proportion to width. SO is a lower number on the P mean wider or smaller.

I know on my stang p215/60/R16 the look wider and obviously not as tall.
