and in my case I was only doing about 20 mph when I stomped on the brakes.
I should have stopped on a time with just a little lock up but instead I
rolled about another 5 to 10 feet. That is not a good thing.

Kevin, while you're technically right about a rolling wheel being better
than a locked one, I think you're missing Darren's point. What he's saying
is that the brakes on his truck are so underpowered that they aren't
capable of locking the wheels, even when the truck is unloaded.

I remember way back in junior high school I was bragging to a bike shop
owner that the brakes on my Huffy were great because they couldn't lock the
wheel up (thus not sending me over the bars). He said that was really bad,
because it means I couldn't get the maximum braking possible.

Same situation here. If our brakes are so weak they can't lock up on an
unloaded truck, they aren't strong enough. If they don't lock up, then ABS
is pretty pointless, since we'll never get to the point where it's needed.
