Easy,

When you let off the throttle, there's a brief rich stage and then the
injectors turn off (on deceleration)...normal.

If it's a LOT of back firing (even under acceleration), then you've got
a problem.

Subject: DML: Backfiring when decelerating ?

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what amount of backfiring
(through
the exhaust) is normal. My truck always backfired to some degree when
decelerating in a lower gear. It is much more obvious with the exhaust
I'm
running, but I was wondering if the aggressive cam I put in was
contributing
to the situation?
