The "Black PVC" is ABS. Was told that ABS can handle a higher temperature
than the white PVC.

I believe that I have read some DMLers having problems with cracking...but I
have never seen this and my set-up has been on my Dak for ~2.5years. Then
again, I have also painted and sanded the ends (sanding to get rid of any
minute cracks caused by the initial cutting of the ABS) of my set-up before
the installation which may have provided some structural benefits ??
