Its a matter of opinion, but this is my view:
Gen-I: 1988-1990 (early body, square front)
Gen-II: 1991-1996 (First years for GenII body style w/aero headlamps)
Gen-III: 1997-Current (aero body style, wider track by 2 inches)
I don't consider the 1991 to be a genI style just because of the engine
difference. If that were the case then the new 4.7L Daks would have to be
called GenIV. 1991 was the first year for the club-cab, aero extended front
end, new interior and trim level options, and six-lug light weight aluminum
wheels. 1992 brought the Magnum engines, even though CryCo intended them for
the 91 year.
