Blowing out brake dust with compressed air is not safe shop practices (or
garage practices) It throws a lot of air borne particles up and you can
breathe it in and ETC. very bad stuff...
You should put a catch pan under it next time and spray them down with brake
clean....

After hearing a rather nasty grinding noise on my truck last night, I drove
home and took the rear tires/drums off. There was a good amount of dust
buildup in the drums and around the shoes. I fired up the air compressor and
blew everything out.
